    Reporting to the Marketing Director, Foreign Affairs, the Marketing Operations Associate will provide an excellent opportunity for a candidate interested in hands-on experience with all the business operations of a multimedia publication that includes print, digital, and events departments.

    The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):

    • Staging and deploying all newsletters and in-house email marketing campaigns
    • Setting up, maintaining, and reporting on automated email marketing campaigns including newsletter and new subscriber welcome flows
    • Creating reports to track performance KPIs across subscription, newsletter, events, advertising, and retention campaigns and overall email list health
    • Using prospect and subscriber data from our fulfillment house, email service provider, and CRM to create targeted lists and audience segments for specific campaigns
    • Collaborating with the marketing team on copy, design, and coding of templates for new and existing email campaigns
    • Participating in the strategy and implementation of projects related to email campaign performance and newsletter growth
    • Day to day point of contact with email vendors such as Sailthru

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g. business, marketing, operations) with high academic achievement
    • 1+ years of related experience in publishing, media, marketing, or a related industry preferred
    • Experience with email marketing using a major email service provider such as Silverpop, Sailthru, Constant Contact, etc.
    • Proven track record with data-driven decision-making, excellent analytical skills; highly organized with strong attention to detail
    • Results-oriented self-starter and interdisciplinary thinker who can work independently and as part of a team
    • Strong interpersonal skills, including clear and effective written communication
    • High level of proficiency with Excel and basic HTML/CSS; experience using other analytics and reporting tools (Omniture, Google Analytics, etc.), and Adobe Creative Suite preferred
    • Knowledge or interest in international relations and foreign policy preferred
